Fire Mage

The priority

1. Combustion — when it is ready
2. Meteor — in combustion, or when combustion is far off
3. Pyroblast — with hot streak
4. Fire Blast — with heating up
5. Pyroblast — with pyroclasm, outside combustion
6. Scorch — below 30% health
7. Fireball — as a filler

Common mistakes

• Casting Fireball with Hot Streak up, which can waste it.
• Using Fire Blast without Heating Up.
• Hard-casting Pyroblast without Pyroclasm.

What’s simplified

• Each turn is one decision (about one global cooldown). Cooldowns and buff durations are converted to turns, so timing is approximate.
• Priority order follows SimulationCraft’s default priority list for this build, simplified to the abilities modeled here. Costs, cooldowns and effects come from Blizzard’s spell data. Rule wording is our own.
• Fireball crits 35% of the time (every time during Combustion). Fire Blast and Scorch in execute range always crit. One crit gives Heating Up; a second gives Hot Streak.
• Fire Blast is a normal press here (in game it is off the global cooldown): 2 charges, one every 6 turns.
• Cooldowns in turns: Combustion 40 (lasts 7), Meteor 20. Pyroclasm (a free empowered Pyroblast) is a 10% chance per Fireball.
• Spellfire Spheres, Hyperthermia and Phoenix Flames are not modeled.
