Preservation Evoker

The priority

1. Time Dilation — before a big hit on the tank
2. Rewind — when the whole group is hurt
3. Verdant Embrace — when the tank drops low
4. Living Flame — when the tank is low and verdant embrace is down
5. Temporal Anomaly — before group damage
6. Echo — before group damage, or before your big heals
7. Dream Breath — when three or more allies are hurt
8. Spiritbloom — when three or more are hurt and dream breath is down
9. Emerald Blossom — when two or more allies are hurt
10. Reversion — when it’s not on the tank
11. Emerald Blossom — with essence burst, on hurt allies
12. Living Flame — on a hurt ally
13. Disintegrate — when everyone is healthy and essence is full
14. Living Flame — when everyone is healthy

Common mistakes

• Casting Dream Breath with no Echoes out.
• Letting Essence Burst expire.
• Letting Reversion fall off the tank.
• Saving Rewind so long it never gets used.

What’s simplified

• Each turn is one decision (about one global cooldown). Cooldowns and buff durations are converted to turns, so timing is approximate.
• SimulationCraft doesn’t model healing, so these priorities are our own, written from Blizzard’s spell tooltips and long-standing healing practice. Costs, cooldowns and durations come from Blizzard’s spell data. Treat it as a starting point, not a final word.
• The party is five allies. Injuries, a low tank and incoming group damage are scripted moments in each lesson, not a full health model: heals move allies from injured to healthy, and overhealing is not tracked.
• Empowered spells are cast at one rank. Dream Breath and Spiritbloom heal 3 allies, 4 if two or more have Echo, and use up the Echoes.
• Essence: up to 5, one back every two turns. Echo costs 2 and Emerald Blossom and Disintegrate 3; Essence Burst (a 20% chance from Living Flame) makes the next one free.
• Mana is left out: Preservation is mostly limited by Essence here.
• Cooldowns in turns from common values, as the spell data doesn’t list them for these spells: Reversion 2 charges every 6, Temporal Anomaly 10, Verdant Embrace 16, Dream Breath 20, Spiritbloom 20, Time Dilation 40, Rewind 160.
